The 1950s music show that's a bit different
Carmen: Born in Germany and living in Adelaide since 1994.
Why am I doing the show?
To me the main mission is to keep doo wop/50s music alive. So many beautiful songs and artists went unoticed in the 50s. It's bittersweet music, happy, cute, charming, sweet and somtimes sad. It makes you feel alive. Love it, love it, love it!!! And love to be creative in playing with music, concepts, sounds and topics.
Why I can't run a normal show?
To me just lining up unrelated songs and announcing the title just isn't good enough. I need a challenge and love to play with music in a creative way e.g. using virtual voices as co-presenters, using sounds and topics to appeal to all the senses to take you (and me) somewhere else.
There is so much we can do on radio and it's just not being done.
Watch this space!
So far my radio experience has been like this:
"Every show to come is exiting. It's like paiting on a blank canvas. It could turn out to be anything: Something which ends in the bin or a beautiful painting you'd like to put on your wall and keep forever."
NB:Being the DJ for Amy's Ride was fantastic with 3000 people coming through!
